Gen. MacArthur led the Incheon Landing operation, an amphibious U.N. counter-offensive launched at Incheon in September 1950 that resulted in a strategic reversal in favor of U.S.-led U.N. forces during the Korean War.
The film, directed by Lee Jae-han, will open in South Korea in time for the 66th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War, which falls on June 25, 2016, said Taewon Entertainment, producer of the movie.
South and North Korea remain technically at war as the Korean War ended in a truce, not a peace treaty. Under the U.N. flag, 21 countries fought alongside South Korea against invading North Korea backed by China in the Korean War.
The 63-year-old Neeson has been nominated for a number of awards, including an Academy Award for Best Actor and three Golden Globe Awards for Bast Actor in a Motion Picture Drama.
