Chonbuk National University (CBNU) has precious Mesenat and natural landscape assets. CBNU will try to take advantage of them to fortify its own brand image. As part of it, the school already created literary awards to commemorate the late novelist Choi Myung-hee who is known for “Honbul” and the late sijo (a Korean poetic form) poet Lee Byung-kee. In addition, CBNU has a traditional performing arts troupe.

These will greatly contribute to the improvement of CBNU’s brand image, recruitment of more outstanding students and the raising of more funds for development of the school.

CBNU also plans to upgrade its brand image, by utilizing abundant ecological and landscape resources, including 1.5 million square meters of forest on Mount. Gonji, Lake Osongje in the forest and nearby Deokjin Park.

In particular, CBNU will establish a 11.4-kilometer-long trail on campus, by linking these natural resources.

Apart from them, the school has plans to create an ecological forest and a forestry park for natural healing, and share them with nearby residents. CBNU will hold a forestry film festival, offer forestry classes, establish a forestry kindergarten, a forestry library and a forestry facility for healing, which are open to residents.
