In the future, our society will need a new breed of leaders who try to resolve problems together with people based on community sentiment. Universities should also provide students with a well-rounded education that can foster personality, sociality, creativity and sensitivity. Chonbuk National University (CBNU) takes the lead in fostering such talented students.

CBNU’s plan designed to foster talented people features the “Residential College” and “Off Campus“ programs.

The “Residential College” program is a new education method which connects the school’s dormitory to academic and community activities, and personality education in order to make the dormitory a space where life and learning become one.

While residing in the dormitory, students can learn about community etiquette, personality, leadership, communication skills and ability to resolve problems on their own. In addition, they will learn about creative writing and artistic creativity, and conduct athletic activities for their health.

Under the “Off Campus” program, students will participate in classes abroad for at least one semester during their school days. If they take part in those overseas classes, they can get grades.
