Hollywood blockbuster "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" dominated South Korea's box office on its opening weekend.

The "Avengers" sequel attracted more than 2.8 million viewers between April 24 and 26, a "record weekend" for an imported movie, according to the country's official box-office tracker Monday.

It drew more than 3 million viewers in just four days after its release on April 23, the fastest record for a foreign movie in the country with a population of about 50 million, the Korea Film Council (KOFIC) said.

American action film "Fast & Furious 7" fell to a distant second place with 106,982 viewers during the April 24-26 period, trailed by South Korean film "Salut D’Amour" (drama, romance) with 86,160 viewers.
