New Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones to hit shelves Friday

GALAXY S6 WORLD TOUR SEOUL - Models pose with Samsung Electronics' newest flagship Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones during an event on its home turf Thursday, a day before the handsets go on sale worldwide. The event, dubbed "Galaxy S6 World Tour Seoul," was held at the South Korean tech giant's office in Seocho-dong, southern Seoul. Sales of the new Galaxy models will begin on April 10 in 20 countries, including the United States, Britain, Germany, France and Australia, and the handsets will hit shelves later in other countries in phases, Samsung said. In South Korea, a 32GB Galaxy S6 is priced at 858,000 won (US$785), and a 32GB Galaxy S6 Edge 979,900 won.
