LG tops global washing machine market for 7 straight years

LG Electronics took the largest share in the global washing machine market for the seventh straight year in 2014, the company said on Wednesday. Its market share stood at 12.4 percent last year.

The company first took the No. 1 spot in the world's washing machine market in 2008 with an 8 percent share, and the figure rose to 9.1 percent in 2009, 10.5 percent in 2011 and 11.6 percent in 2013.

In the category of drum washing machine, LG topped the global market for the sixth consecutive year in 2014, with a record high of 14.7 percent share.
