Samsung Electronics revealed Sunday that it has wireless charging built into its new flagship Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge smartphones.
Both handsets charge straight "out of the box" on all Qi chargers now in the market, including more than 300 styles of Qi-certified wireless chargers for home and office use, and thousands of Qi chargers at McDonald's, Marriott and other public locations around the globe.
The newest smartphones were unveiled during an event, dubbed the "Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015," which was held at the Centro Convenciones International Bercelona (CCIB) in Barcelona, Spain, one day before the opening of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) wireless show.
The Galaxy S6 Edge has a display that curves around the left and right edges.
The handsets will go on sale on April 10, Samsung said.
