K-pop star IU South Koreans' most favorite singer in 2014: survey

K-pop star IU took the top spot in Gallup Korea's most favorite singers list for 2014. She won 12.9 percent of support in a Gallup Korea poll of 2,774 people aged between 13 and 59, which was conducted in October-November. IU was ranked sixth last year.

Girls' Generation moved up three notches to second place with 12.4 percent of approval.

SISTAR placed third with 10.8 percent of support, followed by EXO (9.4 percent), Lee Seon-hee (8.4 percent), Girl's Day (7.9 percent), Lee Seung-chul (7.8 percent), Cho Yong-pil (7.2 percent), BEAST (5.5 percent) and Jang Yun-jeong (5.2 percent).
