'Interstellar' draws more than 7 million moviegoers

Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar" has attracted more than 7 million South Korean moviegoers since its opening in the country on Nov. 6, according to a box-office tracker on Tuesday. 

As of Monday, the Hollywood sci-fi epic starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway drew 7,010,668 viewers in a nation with a population of about 50 million, said the Korean Film Council (KOFIC) that tracks box-office sales. 

The film surpassed the 7 million viewers mark in 19 days since its opening at cinemas nationwide.

"Interstellar" continued to top the local box office on Monday, by attracting 144,876 viewers, KOFIC said. 

"Fury," an action drama war movie, ranked second with 61,154 viewers.
