Sales of air washers in South Korea have surged for the past week, a discount retailer said Thursday. Air washer is a combination of an air purifier and humidifier.
According to Lotte Hi-mart, a merger of Lotte Shopping and Hi-mart in November 2012, its sales of air washers jumped 60 percent in the Nov. 13-19 period from a week earlier.
Demand for the air freshener soared because of dry indoor air conditions caused by warming, market watchers say.
