Ninety-one percent of employed South Korean adults bring at least one mobile device when they take business trips, and 94 percent bring one device on personal vacations, a survey said.

According to the poll of 8,556 employed adults across 25 countries released by the world's leading online travel agency, Expedia, Monday, 94 percent of South Korean respondents said they owned smartphones, the highest among the nations surveyed including the United States, Canada, India, Italy, Germany, Britain and Australia.

Mexico came in second with 92 percent, while Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand were tied for third place with 91 percent, and the United Arab Emirates placed sixth with 89 percent. Japan was ranked at the bottom with 51 percent.

The survey, a global study of mobile-device-related behavior and preferences among travelers, revealed the deep dependence modern travelers have on their mobile devices, such as a smartphone, tablet, e-reader, laptop or smartwatch, Expedia says.
