Beckham to visit Seoul in early November to promote Haig Club whisky

Retired British soccer star David Beckham, partner with Diageo in its Haig Club, the distinctive and sophisticated new Single Grain Scotch Whisky, will come to Seoul in early November to attend a launch event for the whisky, industry sources said Friday. The event is scheduled for Nov. 5.

During the visit, Beckham will hold a press meeting and meet with VIP customers invited by the organizers, the sources said.

The visit, his first trip to Seoul in six years, is part of a world tour during which Beckham is promoting the whisky developed in partnership with Diageo and British entrepreneur Simon Fuller.

On Oct. 28, Beckham flew to Cannes, France, for the TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2014, the world's largest annual duty free trade show, to promote the whisky. 

Beckham made his first trip to Seoul in 2008 to play at a friendly match with the FC Seoul, a South Korean football club.
