Five people have been killed and 31 others sustained injuries as four blasts, including two suicide attacks, hit elsewhere in the militancy-plagued Afghanistan since early Monday, officials confirmed.

The first deadly incident which occurred in the capital city Kabul to target NATO-led forces convoy had left one civilian dead and injured three others, police said.

"One civilian was killed and three others injured in the explosion which occurred at around 6:30 a.m. (0200 GMT) in Pul-e-Charkhi road which is also called Jalalabad road in eastern Kabul, " a police official told Xinhua but declined to be identified, saying authorized officials would brief the media after investigation. The bomber was also killed in the blast, he added.

Two and a half hours later, another suicide attack against army vehicle rattled Ghani Khil district in the eastern Nangarhar province leaving three persons dead, including the bomber himself, police spokesman HazratHussian Mashriqiwal said.
