The pace of South Korea's economic recovery regained its strength again in the third quarter.

The country's gross domestic product (GDP) grew 0.9 percent in the third quarter from the previous quarter, similar to an earlier forecast, the Bank of Korea (BOK) announced Friday. GDP growth slowed down to 0.5 percent in the second quarter from 0.9 percent in the previous quarter.

In a National Assembly audit of government offices earlier this month, Minister of Strategy and Finance Choi Kyung-hwan said that "the pace of economic recovery, though still slow, will regain its strength again in the third quarter."

The GDP, however, rose 3.2 percent in the third quarter from a year earlier, the lowest since the April-June period of 2013, the BOK said.
