Singer-song writer Shin Hae-chul received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) at a hospital on Wednesday, hospital officials said.
The 46-year-old was then taken to Asan Medical Center in southern Seoul for further treatment, the officials said.
"Shin was hospitalized early Wednesday because of his bad health conditions. Since his heart suddenly stopped, Shin received cardiopulmonary resuscitation. One hour later, he was taken to Asan Medical Center's emergency room," a source close to him said.
"Although Shin opened his eyes, he was unable to have dialogue (with others)," the source said, adding that doctors have yet to determine the cause of his heart problem."
