"Begin Again (formerly Can a Song Save Your Life?)," an American musical drama film by Irish film director John Carney ("Once" 2007), has enjoyed a surprise success in South Korea.
According to its local distributor, Pancinema, the revenue from the movie's ticket sales in the country amounted to US$22.35 million, compared with $16.13 million tallied in the United States. Its revenue worldwide was estimated at $56.57 million, according to www.boxofficemojo.com.
"Begin Again," a 2013 film starring Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine and James Corden, was released theatrically in July 2014.
In South Korea, the film has attracted more than 3 million viewers since its opening on Aug. 13, according to Pancinema.
