South Korean President Park Geun-hye, who is on a trip to the United States, plans to address the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday (local time), the presidential office said. Park arrived in New York Monday as part of her weeklong trip that also took her to Canada. She is set to attend a reception hosted by U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon later in the day.

On Tuesday, Park will attend the U.N. climate summit. According to reports, the world’s temperatures have risen by an average of 0.74 degree Celsius, faster than predicted, for the past century. Rising temperatures are driven in large part by greenhouse gas emissions resulting from industrial development, experts say.

Park also plans to attend the U.N. Security Council summit hosted by U.S. President Barack Obama who has vowed to destroy the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq.
