Kim, 19, shot a 3-under-par 68 to finish at 11-under 273, one stroke ahead of the experienced Karrie Webb of Australia.
She became the third South Korean to win a major title on the LPGA Tour as a non-member after Shin Ji-yai in 2008 and Ryu So-yeon in 2011.
Kim was given the US$487,500 (approximately 504.17 million won) prize and entitled to play on the LPGA Tour for the next five years.
