The athletes' village of the upcoming Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, opened its doors to the media on Aug. 26.

The athletes' village having 2,220 units in 22 new apartment buildings can accommodate about 15,000 athletes and officials from 45 countries participating in the Sept. 19-Oct. 4 Games, the organizers said.

The village, located in Guwol-dong, central Incheon, will officially open on Sept. 12, a week before the opening of the Games, they said.

A cafeteria in the village can hold up to 3,500 people and will serve 548 items in total on a five-day rolling period, they said.

Incheon will be the third South Korean city to host the Asian Games, following the capital city of Seoul in 1986 and Busan in 2002.
