In the US, one of the popular family vacations is road trip.
They just pack their stuff and hit the road. It is possible because the country is big enough and there are a lot of things to see across the country.
It is also possible because most of the highways are free to use, especially in western region. Free highway can save time and money.
And US highways have good infrastructure which connect most of the states, and they call it "Interstate Highway."
Thanks to this, people can travel state to state very easily and can stop whenever, wherever they want, and they can enjoy the local attractions.
This is the benefit of free highway in the US system.
