"The Best,“ a compilation album by K-pop group Girls’ Generation, topped Japan's Oricon weekly albums chart on Tuesday, the group's management agency in Seoul said.

The album, the group’s first compilation album released in Japan, contains 18 of its hit songs, including "Genie," "Gee," "Mr. Taxi," the Japanese version of "Mr. Mr" and brand new ballad “Indestructible,” according to the agency, SM Entertainment.

The newest album was released in Japan on July 23.

It is the third time that the all-female band has topped the Japanese chart following "Girls' Generation" in 2011 and "Love & Peace" last year.
