South Korean film “Kundo: Age of the Rampant (2014)” attracted more than 1 million moviegoers in just two days since its Korean release, its local distributor said on Friday.

Based on box-office data compiled by the state-run Korean Film Council, Showbox said the history action film drew 1.04 million viewers as of Thursday, a day after its release.

The movie is the fastest movie to smash the 1-million mark in weekday ticket sales.

“Kundo,“ based on a civil uprising during the 1849-1863 reign of King Cheoljong, the 25th monarch of Korea‘s Joseon Kingdom (1392-1910), depicts a butcher-turned-bandit who fights against the then exploitative upper class.

Directed by Yoon Jong-bin, the film stars actors Ha Jung-woo and Kang Dong-won.
