U.S. President Barack Obama will visit South Korea next week, the South Korean presidential office announced Tuesday.

Obama plans to visit South Korea following a three-day trip to Japan. He will then travel to Malaysia and the Philippines.

President Obama will “visit the Republic of Korea on April 25-26 at the invitation of President Park Geun-hye,” presidential spokesman Min Kyung-wook told reporters.

During his stay, Obama will hold summit talks with President Park Geun-hye to discuss a comprehensive, strategic alliance between the two countries, mutual cooperation on North Korea’s nuclear programs, the situation in Northeast Asia and international issues, Min said.
