WWE legend ‘Ultimate Warrior’ passes away suddenly in front of his wife

WWE legend James Hellwig—a.k.a. Ultimate Warrior—died so suddenly on Tuesday evening outside of an Arizona hotel, TMZ reported.

Hellwig was walking toward his car with his wife when he suddenly collapsed. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital however, he was pronounced dead. He was only 54 years old.

After learning the horrific news, many stars including Hulk Hogan sent their condolences throug Twitter and Facebook and WWE released a statement that said, “WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior.” WWE then listed Hellwig in the WWE Hall of Fame.

James Hellwig made his first appearance in World Wrestling Federation in 1987 and instantly became a star under the ring name The Ultimate Warrior. He officially changed his surname to Warrior in 1993.

He is survived by his wife Dana Warrior and his 2 daughters, Indianna (13) and Mattigan (11).
