South Korea has extended its travel ban on Yemen for another three months because of worsening unrest in the Middle East country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday.

Korean citizens are prohibited from traveling to the Middle East country until Aug. 31, the ministry said in a statement.

The ministry has imposed a travel ban on four other countries - Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia - for security reasons.

Those who wish to visit those countries are required to get permission from the government, the ministry said.
